In the beginning…

Seattle Free Walking Tours was established in 2012, inspired by the adventures and travels of the organization's founders. Our guides have spent years traveling the world for work and pleasure, and it was always the local free tours that were the best at showcasing local treasures in the towns we visited.

Free tours are a phenomenon throughout much of Europe, but in the United States, most people get skeptical when they hear the word “free.” We promise not to sell you a timeshare.

It was our hope to introduce this free tour model here at home in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The tours have grown to showcase the flagship “Seattle 101” and “Market Experience” free tours, as well as other premium partner tours that we are excited to feature to our guests – both residents and visitors alike!

Our mission will always be to educate others about Seattle's diverse history and culture, where we came from, and who we are now.
